Well basically complimentary lounge access in domestic airports is provided in certain credit and debit cards offered by different financial institutions. It usually differs from one to two complimentary lounge access per quarter. Now, you all might already know that, complimentary lounge access is where you can enter with a minimal charge deducted from either your credit or debit card which is usually Rs.2/- as seen in most of the cases. In the lounge, you have comfortable sitting areas with sofas where you can seat and relax and along with that a buffet is place where you can have a good full course meal. But there are usually queries which arises on what may be the conditions when you bring along your family or what may be the time duration till which you can seat and relax in the lounge. Q1) How much time can one sit and enjoy in the lounges?
Ans:- One is eligible to enter prior to three hours departure of the flight.
Q2) I have two credit/debit cards in my name. Can I use these two for me and my wife/relative?
Ans:- You can use as many cards as there are number of people with you for the complementary entry in the lounge.
Q3) I have my friend’s card with me but he is not travelling with me. Can I use his card for the lounge?
Ans:- The condition for entry is that on whosoever name’s card is being used, the card owner person needs to be present. In other words, the card holder needs to be present at the lounge for to use the card for his/her friends.
Q4) I have two complimentary lounge access in the card. So, can I use simultaneously for the entry for two people. In other words, can I use the card back to back in the same lounge for the entry of two people.
Ans:- As per the condition mentioned by the the lounge officials, once the card is used for one complimentary lounge access, the second complimentary access activates after three hours have been passed. But I have seen once a person having Diners Club Credit Card which have unlimited lounge access insisted the lounge officials for simultaneously using the credit card for his friend and surprisingly, the card worked and all four of them entered through one credit card only. Hence, my suggestion, if your card has two complimentary lounge access, try insisting the lounge officials to use the same card for two of your companions so that it can be made sure for the future.
Q5) Can I pay money and access the lounge?
Ans- As far as I have seen, access is allowed by payment though charges levied will be very high. So, in place of that, waiting outside lounge will be a better option, I guess.
Please check the complimentary lounge access provided by different credit/debit cards as there are different conditions applied for the lounge access to be activated. One such condition is that the minimum transaction on the previous quarter needs to be atleast Rs.50000/-.With the number of increasing travellers using cards to access the lounges, I think more such conditions are going to be imposed on the card owners to be able to use the complimentary lounge benefit.
